Project

The ERASMUS+ project CoopCities: Learning from urban cities sustainable solutions to deal with the global challenges faced due to the COVID pandemic focuses on developing the skills and competencies of various urban actors to effectively respond to unexpected challenges. Within this framework, the project aims to create an innovative training model for vocational education and training. Trainers and educators will be equipped with the necessary skills and competencies to navigate unexpected situations in their cities, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The training model is complemented by a range of training materials, including digital tools such as Serious Games and an E-Learning Portal, as well as video narratives and digital case study reports. All these training materials are available as Open Educational Resources (OER) on the project’s E-Learning Portal.

The project’s outcomes will contribute to addressing the world’s most pressing needs, including overcoming climate change and promoting environmental protection. Consequently, it directly aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainability. CoopCities particularly supports decision-makers in the areas of Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities and Goal 17 – Partnerships.

By developing innovative training approaches and providing accessible training materials, CoopCities empowers urban actors to effectively respond to unexpected challenges, fostering sustainable urban development and strengthening partnerships for a more resilient future. Together, we can create sustainable cities and communities that address the urgent global challenges we face today.
